Most 17 year olds will learn to drive, but not many will gain an academic qualification whilst doing it!! The a²om BTEC in Driving Science is the world’s first academic qualification in novice driver training. It offers a chance for your son/daughter to not only become a safer driver for life, but to add differentiation to their CV.

The a²om BTEC in Driving Science addresses the importance of integrating the right attitude with car control skills. Driving statistics tell us that 17-24 year old drivers are seriously over represented in accidents that cause death and serious injury. The a²om BTEC provides a comprehensive novice driver programme. The result is a more fully informed driver with a full appreciation of all the factors that influence safety.

The a²om BTEC in Driving Science is completed over a normal course of driving lessons. It will result in a more fully informed driver with a full appreciation of all the factors that influence safety.

‘I am delighted to see a²om’s national BTEC scheme bringing to the UK some of the most advanced learning from around the world. a²om is to be commended for its initiative to counter some of the significant problems affecting young drivers and their passengers, as well as delivering an academic and vocational qualification for the young driver that may also broaden the base of employment opportunity for those opting for the a²om course over a simple driving test’.

HRH Prince Michael of Kent, GCVO, Patron of the Global Road Safety Commission

‘Being able to drive is an important route to employment, and should be embedded in our education system; driving well provides a route to continued employment - this breakthrough will give young people a chance in life which was just not there before’.

Adrian Walsh, director of RoadSafe
